Please Help Us Support Our Friends at Alas de Colombia
Following the devastating earthquake in Colombia, 10 August 2026, a fundraiser has been set up to support Vanessa Restrepo and her family, whose home has been badly affected, as well as helping with damage to Alas de Colombia
We have previously had the privilege of importing butterfly pupae from Vanessa and know the wonderful work behind Alas de Colombia.
For more than two decades, the farm has combined butterfly conservation with sustainable livelihoods for rural Colombian families, particularly women, who breed native butterflies and help supply butterfly houses around the world.
It is a wonderful example of how the butterfly industry can support both people and biodiversity, and right now they could really use the support of our wider butterfly community.
Any donation, however small, will help Vanessa, her family and those around them begin to recover and rebuild. If you aren't able to donate, simply sharing the fundraiser would mean a great deal.
